Visiting Bristol's Old Market
The practical side of a trip to Bristol's Old Market: how to get there, where to park, how to stay safe at night, and the dates worth planning around.
Getting there
- Bristol Temple Meads. Visit Bristol describes The Village as near Temple Meads station.
- The Old Market bus interchange is beside the Stag and Hounds at the west end of Old Market Street, and Old Market Assembly is about two minutes' walk from it.
Parking
- Cabot Circus car park. The Phoenix is tucked behind Future Inn by the Cabot Circus car park.
Staying safe
- Bristol Safe Space at Night: Fridays and Saturdays 10pm to 4am on the central promenade opposite Bristol Hippodrome, offering first aid, phone charging, drink spiking test kits and someone to talk to.
- Old Market and the Frogmore Street bars ('The Strip') are separate areas, so plan the walk between them.
- Use Bristol Safe Space at Night on Friday and Saturday nights if you need help, but call 999 in an emergency.
