The act

Crystal Candyfloss sings live. That is the first thing her own website wants you to know: no miming. Her show is a singalong that runs from the 1940s to the 2000s, built so that every age group in the room has something to join in with, and some numbers come with actions for the audience to copy. She has played to crowds aged from 16 to 95 and to rooms of up to 400 people.

It is a very Blackpool kind of drag: warm, inclusive, more seaside variety than catwalk. Crystal works pubs, hotels, nightclubs, private parties and even care homes, and can bring her own sound, lighting and DJ set-up, which makes her a regular choice for hen nights, birthdays and Christmas parties.

Career highlights

• Hen-party specialist. Crystal spent four years performing every Saturday night for a major UK hen-party company in Bournemouth, then moved to Blackpool and carried on with the same company here.
• Lu-Lu's host. She has hosted Sunday nights at Lu-Lu's Cabaret Lounge on Dickson Road, one of the quarter's friendliest small cabaret bars.
• Shows of all lengths. Her sets range from a 45-minute spot to a whole evening.

Crystal Candyfloss has hosted Sunday evenings from 7pm at Lu-Lu's Cabaret Lounge, 78b-82 Dickson Road. Lu-Lu's runs cabaret acts and a host on Fridays and Saturdays too. She also performs at hen-party nights around town.
