Visiting Drag Stars in Blackpool

The television queens and touring headliners who have played Blackpool's LGBTQ+ venues and theatres, and where to look for the next one.

Blackpool's home-grown queens do most of the work, but the town also pulls in the big names from the touring circuit. Here are the stars who have played, or are booked for, recent seasons.

Baga Chipz

Baga Chipz found fame on RuPaul's Drag Race UK and is one of the country's most recognisable drag entertainers, known for her quick wit, filthy stories and big personality. She brought her Bagz To Riches tour to Funny Girls for a one-night show on Tuesday 6 October 2026, with gossip, comedy and plenty of audience interaction.

Zahirah Zapanta

Drag Race UK's Zahirah Zapanta headlined Kaos on Queen Street on 25 July 2026, a fortnight after the bar reopened under new owners following a 12-week refit. Kaos now runs late until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, and its relaunch suggests more guest bookings to come.

Danny Beard

Danny Beard opened Sherlock's on Queen Street on 5 November 2021, when the bar launched in the former Whippet Inn. Danny went on to win Drag Race UK. The booking set the tone for Sherlock's as the quarter's place for visiting names at weekends.

Sum Ting Wong

Sum Ting Wong, a contestant on the first series of Drag Race UK, was on the Blackpool Pride bill in 2024 and performed at Sherlock's during the February 2025 Rainbow Weekend. That night included a vigil in memory of The Vivienne, the Liverpool queen and first Drag Race UK winner, who had died a few weeks earlier and was much loved in the north west.

Tanya Hyde

Tanya Hyde has appeared at Funny Girls in one-night specials.

Myra DuBois

The Rotherham comedy diva brings her new show Siren to Blackpool Grand Theatre on 13 May 2027. See her profile.

Heffa Trott

Heffa Trott headlines the touring Diamonds Showbar festive show at Viva on Church Street on 9 December 2026, with lip-sync, live vocals and comedy from the Diamond Divas.

Our Trace

Not a drag act, but a regular on the same circuit: Our Trace is an award-winning, very risqué stand-up comedian with a big online following, who played Mardi Gras on Lord Street in May 2024.

Mr Blackpool

Blackpool theatre maker Harry Clayton-Wright brought his drag, variety and sideshow spectacular Mr Blackpool home to the Grand Theatre for a gala in 2026. See our drag kings and alternative drag page.

Where to look for the next booking

  • Funny Girls books television stars for nights when the main show is dark, usually early in the week.
  • Kaos and Sherlock's on Queen Street book visiting queens at weekends.
  • The Grand Theatre and Viva host touring drag comedy and festive drag shows.
  • Blackpool Pride in June and the Rainbow Weekend in February bring the biggest concentration of guest acts.
