Cocktail bar (closed) · 137 Church Street, Blackpool

Bar 137

Bar 137 traded at 137 Church Street, in the town centre a few minutes' walk from the Winter Gardens. It was a friendly cocktail-and-craft-beer bar with a varied music policy and regular events, and it was listed among the bars of Blackpool's gay scene. For people heading out from the theatres and the town centre towards the quarter, it was a handy first stop.

A short revival

Bar 137 closed in January 2024. The premises reopened two months later as Mama L's, but that did not last either: Mama L's shut its doors at the end of August 2025.

Today

The building has been closed since then and was being marketed for a new tenant in 2026. Church Street has always had a lively mix of bars, so a new chapter may yet come.

Where to go instead

Churchills on nearby Topping Street is a gay-friendly pub, and the Rainbow Quarter's gay bars are about ten minutes' walk north.
