What it is and who it welcomes

Q Accommodation is a boutique guest house at 27 Lord Street, in a renovated 19th-century house that used to be the Seacroft. It is run alongside Mardi Gras, the bar and hotel a few doors along, but it is the quieter sibling. There is no bar, no breakfast and no party noise, just seven smart rooms in the middle of the quarter.

It says that everyone over 18 is welcome, whether gay, lesbian, bi, trans, straight, in a couple, with friends or on your own, and that most of its guests are LGBTQ+. It does not take stag or hen parties.

Rooms

All seven rooms are en-suite doubles or kings, with showers but no baths. There are no singles, twins or family rooms. Each room sleeps two adults:

  • The Penthouse King Suite, on the top floor
  • The Coastline Suite, a king
  • King Room with Bay Window
  • Premier Double, first floor, with a king bed
  • Premier Double, second floor, with a king bed
  • Standard Double, first floor
  • The Blackpool Hideaway, a cosy double

The rooms were refurbished in September 2025 with new bedding, modern décor and Blackpool-themed artwork. All have free fast WiFi and toiletries, and each has a 360-degree virtual tour online, so you can see exactly what you are getting. Rooms have been advertised from about £70 a night.

House rules

  • Adults only, 18 and over.
  • No stag or hen parties.
  • Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am. The phone and doorbell are switched off at 9pm.
  • No extra guests in the bedrooms. Numbers must match the booking.
  • No smoking or drugs anywhere on the premises. Evidence of either brings a £50 charge and may mean you are asked to leave.
  • Lost keys cost £25.

You get a front-door key, so you can come and go as you please. Just be quiet when you come in late.

Breakfast

Q is room-only. For breakfast, there are cafés near the station, and several bars on Lord Street and Dickson Road serve food, including Mardi Gras a few doors away.

Location

You are about one or two minutes from Blackpool North station. Funny Girls and the Dickson Road and Lord Street bars are between one and three minutes away. North Pier and the promenade are about 500 metres away, and the Winter Gardens, home of Winter Pride each February, is eight to ten minutes on foot.

Parking

There is no private parking. Q can arrange a £5 per 24 hours guest rate at Bank Street car park, about two minutes away. Ask in advance, collect the permit before you park and pay in cash. On Lord Street, one side is free and unrestricted. The other side is restricted from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, between Good Friday and 10 November. Buchanan Street car park, about six minutes away, is a cheaper pay-and-display alternative.

Accessibility

There are two steps to the entrance, no lift and no ground-floor bedrooms. The bedrooms are near the top of one flight of stairs. The guest house can share details of local wheelchair and mobility scooter hire.
