Bridge End, Leeds
The Bridge (1-5 Bridge End), closed in 2026 and to let.
History
Campaigners asked for Bridge End and The Calls to be recognised as part of the gay quarter (2011-12).
Where it is
The southern end of Briggate, running down to Leeds Bridge on the River Aire, under the rainbow-painted railway bridge (Freedom Bridge), with Call Lane and The Calls alongside. Unlike the pedestrianised main Briggate, Lower Briggate is open to traffic. The council describes the community scene as focused around Lower Briggate, next to the railway station. Leeds Pride's parade ends here every year.
