Leeds' oldest gay bar, serving LGBTQ+ customers since 1953 when it was the Hope and Anchor, and described as the longest-running LGBT venue outside London. A pub by day and a club-style venue at night with a late licence, often the last venue on the scene to close at weekends. In 2016 it became the first building to receive a Leeds Civic Trust blue plaque for providing a safe venue for LGBT people.
