Blackpool Renaissance trans support group
A long-running trans peer support group meeting twice a month at a Dickson Road guesthouse, open to trans people, partners and allies.
Some details here may be out of date. Check with the group before you go.
Blackpool Renaissance, sometimes called the Renaissance transgender forum, is one of the longest-running trans support groups in the area. It offers a safe, social space where trans and gender-diverse people can meet, share experience and build confidence.
Please note: this group is not part of Renaissance UK, the health charity behind Horizon LGBTQ+ at 102 Dickson Road. The two just share a name.
What they offer
- Peer support meetings and social evenings for trans and gender-diverse people of all ages and identities.
- A welcome for partners and allies.
- Information and a chance to talk to people who have been through similar things.
The group's social evenings have drawn trans people from well beyond Blackpool, and the host guesthouse offers overnight rooms, which can make it easier to travel in and relax.
When and where
The group has met on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting around 6pm, at The Gynway, 205 Dickson Road.
Check with the group before you go. We have not been able to confirm that the meeting pattern is still current.
How to get in touch
Contact The Gynway on 01253 314747 or email thegynway@blueyonder.co.uk to check the next meeting date or to ask about staying over.
