Some details here may be out of date. Check with the group before you go.

Lancashire Lads is a peer support group exclusively for trans men. It gives you a chance to meet other trans men in Blackpool and the surrounding area, talk openly and share practical tips in a relaxed, private setting.

What they offer

  • A monthly evening of peer support, run by and for trans men.
  • Somewhere to talk about anything from coming out and transition to work, relationships and everyday life.
  • A friendly first step if you have never been to a trans group before.

When and where

The group has met on the second Tuesday of each month, from 6pm to 8pm, at Horizon, 102 Dickson Road, in the Rainbow Quarter.

These details come from a group listing we couldn't date, so check with the group before you go.

How to get in touch

Call the Horizon centre on 01253 311431 and ask about Lancashire Lads. The group asks people to get in touch before attending, so you can find out more and let them know you are coming. This also means someone will be expecting you on your first visit.

Good to know

  • It's free to attend.
  • The Horizon centre is a few minutes' walk from Blackpool North station.
  • Horizon LGBTQ+ also offers one-to-one support around gender identity and sexual health clinics for trans people.
  • If you are on or waiting for the gender identity clinic pathway, the Gender Outreach Service runs a free monthly drop-in at Blackpool Central Library and has a freephone line on 0800 183 1486.
  • Other Blackpool groups include TransInclusion for trans women and the twice-monthly Blackpool Renaissance group.
