LGBTQ+ support and safety in Manchester

Health, safety and helplines
- LGBT Foundation: Counselling, sexual health testing, drug and alcohol support, befriending, and support for lesbian and bisexual women and trans people.
- Village Angels: Volunteer welfare patrol on Canal Street every Friday and Saturday night until 3am, trained in first aid and water safety.
- Greater Manchester Police: Report hate crime and other crime.
Community groups
- LGBT Foundation: The national LGBTQ+ charity based in the Village: counselling, sexual health testing, social and support groups, drug and alcohol support, befriending, community safety, and services for lesbian and bisexual women and for trans people.
- Village Angels: Volunteer patrol in pink hi-vis on Canal Street and nearby streets every Friday and Saturday night until 3am, helping people who are drunk, injured or lost. Run by the LGBT Foundation and funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority; it marked 15 years in May 2026.
- Manchester Village Pride CIC: A not-for-profit community interest company with unpaid volunteer directors, set up to run Pride in the Village after Manchester Pride's events company collapsed in 2025. Any surplus goes to LGBTQ+ charities and community groups.
