What's new at Funny Girls under its new owners

Two weeks into the new era at Funny Girls, and the changes are easy to spot. If you haven't been since the sale, here's what to expect.

The building

• the cabaret bar has had money spent on it
• there's a new VIP area down at floor level
• a runway stage now takes the queens right out into the crowd
• there's a new cocktail menu

The show

Hot Girl Summer is hosted by Ritzy Reynolds. Flexi Belle, who used to dance with the National Ballet of Toronto, does the high kicks and drop splits, and there's a new Riverdance routine. Phoenix Knights has a Cher number with great comic timing, Miss Scarlett is back after six years with a Beyonce set, and the dancers add some aerial acrobatics.

On the Saturday of Pride weekend, the crowd was photographed for a new Showtown exhibition marking 20 years of Blackpool Pride.

All the signs are that Funny Girls is in good hands.
