Smalltown Boy: Re-live the Music of Jimmy Somerville
A live-band tribute night to the music of Jimmy Somerville, Bronski Beat and The Communards at Viva Blackpool.
Smalltown Boy is a live-band tribute to the music of Jimmy Somerville, Bronski Beat and The Communards, at Viva Blackpool on Saturday 6 February 2027.
Expect the 80s synth-pop anthems, including Smalltown Boy and Don't Leave Me This Way. It is a tribute show, so Jimmy Somerville himself doesn't appear, and it is a general Viva event rather than one run by the LGBTQ+ scene.
Times: doors at 6.30pm, the show at 8pm, and an after-show from 10pm.
Tickets: from £17.95. Ages 12 and over.
Good to know: Viva is at 3 Church Street, around ten minutes' walk from the Rainbow Quarter, so you can head to Queen Street or Lord Street once the after-show winds down. Early February is quiet in Blackpool, so it is a good weekend to find a cheaper room in one of the quarter's guesthouses.
