What it is and who it welcomes

The Belvedere, at 77 Dickson Road, is a gay-run, adults-only guesthouse in a Victorian townhouse in the middle of the gay village. Since December 2020 it has been run by Lee and Chris, a married couple who moved to Blackpool from Manchester to take it on. They have since added Rendezvous Bar and Rooms on Lord Street. They have built a loyal following of LGBTQ+ guests and friends, helped by a full breakfast and a sociable bar.

Important: sale and changes in 2026

In June 2026 the owners announced that the Belvedere was for sale. They said:

  • they are still taking bookings for now
  • if it does not sell, it may move to opening on special weekends only, on a room-only basis
  • the hotel's bar will close for good at the end of 2026

So if you are booking for late 2026 or 2027, ring first to check what will be open, and whether breakfast and the bar are included for your dates.

Rooms and prices

There are standard doubles and premium kings. Recent rates, per person per night with two sharing and breakfast included, were:

  • Monday to Thursday: standard double about £65, premium king about £80
  • Friday to Sunday: standard double about £85, premium king about £100

There is a two-night minimum. A 25% single-occupancy discount is offered on some rooms when available.

Promotions: a Friday-to-Monday weekend special of three nights for about £110 per person including breakfast, with a supplement for a premium room. There is also 15% off midweek stays of three nights or more from Monday to Thursday, which cannot be combined with other offers.

Breakfast and bar

A full English breakfast is included in every rate. The bar has been open at weekends for residents and visitors. The owners have announced that it will close permanently at the end of 2026.

The building

The owners have restored the house bit by bit, keeping its Victorian character while adding modern comforts. The original front door, around 135 years old, has been stripped back to bare wood. The dining room, bar, signs and roof have all been worked on.

Location

Dickson Road is the backbone of the gay village. Peek-a-Booze, Lu-Lu's and the Duke are a short walk north, and Funny Girls, Man Bar and the Queen Street bars are a few minutes south. Blackpool North station is about five minutes away on foot.

Accessibility

There is no disabled access. The rooms are upstairs in a period house.

Parking

No parking details are published. The Dickson Road, Cocker Street and Bank Street car parks are all a few minutes' walk away. See our parking and arrival guide.
