The B&B Blackpool
A simple, budget B&B with a small bar on Cocker Street, a short walk from the bars and the Winter Gardens.
What it is and who it welcomes
The B and B Blackpool is a no-frills, good-value guesthouse at 19 Cocker Street, on the southern edge of the Rainbow Quarter. It appears on the local gay accommodation and scene lists and draws a steady LGBTQ+ crowd, although its own pages make no specific LGBTQ+ statement. It suits anyone who wants a cheap, central bed close to the bars and is not fussed about extras.
Rooms
There is a good spread of rooms. Each has a flat-screen TV, a kettle and free WiFi, and some have a seating area. Two singles are tucked into the attic on the top floor, where the ceiling is low in places. They suit solo travellers on a budget who don't mind ducking.
Room service and a laundry service are both available for a small charge.
Breakfast, evening meals and the bar
Breakfast is no longer cooked in the building. Instead, you get a voucher at check-in, and breakfast and evening meals are served at a sister hotel about a minute's walk away, where your meals are reserved for you. There is a small bar on site for a drink before you head out.
Pets
The B and B has accepted pets for an extra fee. Confirm this, and the current charge, when you book.
Location
You are on Cocker Street, between the seafront and Dickson Road. Evanescent is a few doors along, and Chaps and Lawrence House are also nearby. From here it is a few minutes to the Dickson Road and Lord Street bars and Funny Girls, and around ten minutes to the Winter Gardens and the Tower. Blackpool North station is within easy walking distance.
Parking
There is no car park at the property. A small number of parking places can be booked through the B and B for a flat fee of about £5. They are limited, so you must book before you arrive. Otherwise, the Cocker Street and Cocker Square public car parks are close by.
Accessibility
There is no lift, and the attic singles have restricted headroom. No access statement is published, so ring ahead if you have mobility needs.
