What it is and who it welcomes

Welhorny's, at 33 to 37 Banks Street, is a naturist guesthouse and bar for men, run as a private members' club. It sits a short walk from Blackpool North station, on the edge of the Rainbow Quarter. Its hosts present it as a place of respect, calm and camaraderie for men who enjoy being clothes-free. It is not a nightclub, and the atmosphere is closer to a friendly naturist club than a party venue.

It is for men only and for adults only. If you are new to social naturism, it is one of the gentler places in town to try it, because the group is small and the house rules are clear.

Membership

Welhorny's operates as a private members' club, which is how it keeps the space secure and comfortable for guests. You must arrange membership at least 24 hours before you visit. That applies whether you are staying overnight or coming for the bar or an event. Contact the house by phone or email well before you travel, and don't expect to be let in on the day if you have not signed up.

Rooms and capacity

The guesthouse sleeps up to about 15 guests across its rooms, so it fills quickly on popular weekends. Breakfast has been offered to staying guests. Ask about room types and whether rooms are en-suite when you book, as the house does not publish a room list online.

The bar and events

There is a members' bar on site, and the house holds party nights and themed weekends through the year. A recent example is a three-day bears and pups weekend in October. These weekends draw visitors from across the north of England, so book rooms early if you want to stay for one.

Naturist etiquette applies throughout:

  • Carry a towel to sit on in shared areas.
  • Respect other people's boundaries. Being naked is not an invitation.
  • No photography of other guests.
  • Follow staff instructions about which areas are for what.

Location

Banks Street runs between the station area and Dickson Road, so you are only a couple of minutes from Funny Girls, Man Bar and the Queen Street bars. Pride Lodge on High Street and the Bank Street car park are close by. Some older listings place Welhorny's on Dickson Road, but its current address is on Banks Street.

Parking

Welhorny's does not publish parking details. The Bank Street open-air car park is very close, and the Dickson Road and Talbot Road car parks are a few minutes away. See our parking and arrival guide.

Accessibility

No access information is published. Phone ahead if you have mobility needs.
