LGBTQ+ weddings and blessings in Blackpool

An inclusive church, Pride weddings and celebrating at a show.

Blackpool has a long tradition of celebrating love, and LGBTQ+ couples have several options.

An inclusive church

Liberty Church Blackpool, which meets at St Paul's Worship Centre on Egerton Road in North Shore, welcomes LGBTQ+ people, marries same-sex couples and offers blessings. The minister charges no fee for either. It also holds an inclusive Sunday evening service.

Everyone, including LGBTQ+ Christians and people exploring faith

Pride weddings

Blackpool Pride has a history of blessings and weddings. The very first Pride in 2006 closed with a mass blessing, and for the 20th anniversary in 2026 couples entered a competition to win a wedding on the Sunday stage.

Celebrating

Funny Girls is a popular choice for a hen, stag or anniversary night, and you can decorate your table or bring a cake. Several gay-run guest houses are a good base for a wedding party; see our hotels guide.

Civil ceremonies

Civil weddings and civil partnerships are available through the local register office and licensed venues across Blackpool, on the same terms for all couples.
