Drag Bingo, Karaoke and Quiz Nights

Where to find the hosted nights in Blackpool's Rainbow Quarter: drag quizzes, camp game shows, bingo with a twist and karaoke every night of the week.

Not every drag night is a full-blown cabaret. Some of the most fun nights in the quarter are hosted games, where a queen or a camp host runs bingo, a quiz or the karaoke and the audience does half the work. They're cheap or free, they're sociable, and they're a good way to meet regulars.

Quiz nights

QuizMania with Amber at the Flying Handbag is the quarter's best-known drag quiz. It runs on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm to 8pm, hosted by the Handbag's resident queen Miss Amber, so the questions come with a large side order of comedy. It's a good early start before a night out, or a fun afternoon if you're in town midweek.

The Handbag's Thursday Take It or Leave It is a game-show night in the same spirit.

Bingo and game shows

  • Peek-a-Booze, 72-74 Dickson Road, is the bingo specialist. Host and DJ Wayne runs bingo on Monday and Wednesday nights, each followed by a revived TV game show: Blankety Blank on Mondays, Play Your Cards Right on Wednesdays.
  • Garlands, 69-71 Talbot Road, has Bonnie La Blue's Big Camp Gameshow on Tuesdays: drag-hosted games with audience volunteers.
  • The Dame Lane, 4 Pleasant Street, at the northern edge of the quarter, runs bingo afternoons alongside live singers.
  • Churchills, 83-85 Topping Street, a gay-friendly pub near the quarter that is popular with an older crowd, has regular bingo, karaoke and poker nights.

Karaoke

In the quarter you can sing somewhere almost every night:

  • Flying Handbag, on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Peek-a-Booze, with DJ Keiron on Tuesday nights and Friday afternoons, and Wayne on Thursdays.
  • Oscars, in the Funny Girls building, for after-show karaoke and live music late into the night.
  • Mardi Gras, 41-43 Lord Street, whose public bar runs karaoke and cabaret.
  • Churchills, on Topping Street.
  • Garlands, where Tuesday's Shazza's Singalong turns the whole bar into a choir.
  • During the Rainbow Weekend, Buckinghams on Queen Street has paired live singers with karaoke.

Drag brunches

For a daytime treat, Viva on Church Street runs drag-hosted bottomless brunches with comedy, party games and live performances, including a Rocky Horror Halloween brunch on 31 October 2026 and drag brunches in April, September and December 2027. These are ticketed and 18+.

  • Bingo and quiz nights are some of the friendliest ways to meet locals, especially if you're on your own.
  • Hosts love a good sport. Shout out, join in, and laugh at yourself.
  • Tip the host if they've made your night, and buy your drinks at the bar: these nights are often free to enter.
  • Listings change week to week, so check the venue's what's-on page before you set off.
