Whitegate Drive

Home of Whitegate Health Centre, Blackpool's main sexual health clinic, with walk-ins, PrEP and a trans and non-binary clinic.

Whitegate Drive is a long main road in the east of Blackpool, part of the A583. It runs from Oxford Square north to the Devonshire Square junction, where the route turns west along Church Street into the town centre. In 1956 trams still ran along it on the Marton route.

Whitegate Health Centre

Whitegate Health Centre at 150 Whitegate Drive (FY3 9ES) is a large NHS building with GP practices, X-ray and MRI, physiotherapy, mental health and children's services, and the town's main sexual health clinic, run by the Blackpool and Lancashire Sexual Health Service.

  • Services: STI testing and treatment, including services for men who have sex with men and for trans patients; HIV PEP and PrEP; hepatitis B vaccination; contraception; chemsex support; and young people's services.
  • Walk-ins: weekday mornings, 9am to 11am, or book.
  • Trans and non-binary clinic: a monthly evening clinic for trans and gender-diverse people.
  • Booking: call 0300 1234 154, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, or book online.
