Buchanan Street

A town-centre link between Talbot Road and Church Street, with busy bus stops.

Buchanan Street is a main road in the town centre, east of Blackpool North station. It links Talbot Road and Church Street, with Charles Street, Caunce Street, Lily Street, Milbourne Street and Peter Street off it. It is about 520 metres long and about a quarter of a mile from the station.

Buses

Buchanan Street is useful mainly as a bus hub:

  • The Central, by Buchanan Street stop on Talbot Road serves routes including 5, 7, 8, 14 and 42, to places such as Cleveleys, Fleetwood, Blackpool Zoo and Lancaster.
  • The stop of the same name on Church Street (heading east) serves routes including 4, 18 and 61, the last going to Preston.

Parking

There is no council car park on Buchanan Street. The nearest council option is the short-stay car park on Charles Street, at the corner of Cookson Street; for longer stays, use the Talbot Road multi-storey or the quarter's open-air car parks. See parking and arrival.
