Rainbow QuarterBlackpool's inclusive quarter: everyone welcome

Charles Street

Just east of the station in the town centre, with the W3 Complex men's sauna.

Charles Street is in the town centre, just east of Blackpool North station between Talbot Road and Church Street, in the area being rebuilt as the Talbot Gateway. It is not part of the North Shore streets of the quarter, but it is only a few minutes' walk from them. It links Cookson Street, Buchanan Street, Grosvenor Street, King Street, Elizabeth Street and Gorton Street, and is about 450 metres long.

On the street

  • W3 Complex at 1 to 3 Charles Street (FY1 3EG) is one of the town's two men's saunas, open since 2007 and formerly called WetWetWet. It has three floors of cabins and play areas, a lounge and a terrace, and runs weekly theme nights. Men only, 18+. Only the lower level is reported to be suitable for disabled visitors.
  • Allied Pharmacy is at 80B Charles Street.

Changing fast

The council has been buying land here for the Multiversity, a five-floor college and university campus for the Talbot Gateway, where building work started in June 2026. A small Charles Street short-stay car park, on the corner of Cookson Street, has been added to the council's list of car parks.

Getting here

A few minutes on foot from Blackpool North station, whose tram stop is the nearest.
